In Legacy of David M. Bayne

The Banff & Lake Louise Mentorship Program connects mentors and mentees who share a commitment to leadership, professionalism, and excellence within the tourism sector. Inspired by the mentorship legacy of David Bayne, the program empowers the next generation of industry leaders to reach new heights.

Participants are matched with someone just one step ahead or behind in their career journey. Supervisors, department heads, executives, and retirees may participate as mentors or mentees. Reflecting the diverse career paths within tourism and hospitality, the program thoughtfully considers experience and background when creating each match.

Summer/Fall Banff & Lake Louise Mentorship Program Kicks Off!

We’re excited to welcome 23 participants to this year’s Summer/Fall Mentorship Program, creating 12 mentor-mentee partnerships across Banff and Lake Louise’s hospitality community.

By sharing experience, building connections, and supporting one another’s professional growth, these participants are helping strengthen the future of our industry. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has stepped forward as a mentor or mentee—we’re excited to see these partnerships grow over the coming months.

How it works

Professional development requires more than time spent in a role, emerging leaders need guidance in decision-making and career navigation. With an experienced professional supporting your goals through coaching, listening, and guiding, the results can have an incredible impact on a person’s career.

BLLHA recruits both mentors and mentees for this free, 6-month program that connects aspiring leaders, supervisors, managers, and directors in Banff National Park. Running with two sessions per year January-June (Winter/Spring) and July-December (Summer/Fall), the program requires one meeting per month and allows participants to be both mentors and mentees, matched based on career goals, skills, and expertise.
